So, this year I am planning on going out for halibut every day that Ted will take me. Last year I learned that Norwegian jigs were about the coolest thing there is to bounce off the bottom of the ocean. However, as awesome as the Okuma Celilo halibut rod is for the 700 grams, anything heavier is really to much for it and it is a bit longer than I'd like. In his latest shipment, our man Randy lists a G655XH. It is an awesome rod, no doubt, but is it what I'm looking for to bounce 1000 gram + cod jigs off the bottom of the Pacific 800 feet down?
