Title: New at ICAST 2022: "Gen2" PENN Fathom lever drags
Post by: Tunanorth on July 13, 2022, 04:29:57 AM
BOOM!
New PENN reel series being debuted at the ICAST Show in Orlando next week:
"Gen2" Fathom lever drag [single speed and 2-speed models].
Pricing and spec details at the show.
Not due on retail shelves until October.
We have done a lot of field-testing of these reels, including some which have been on the deck of San Diego long range boats, being used every single day to catch tonnage of fish, while receiving virtually no care or maintenance.
I landed this 85-pound bluefin tuna on just 20-pound test, using the single-speed "15" size model while onboard the Pacifica.

Nice work Steve.  I gotta check that new reel out.  Though, not in Orlando, too far from California.  Dominick

Correct, that is a single-speed, though there is a 2-speed version of almost every size.
