Post by: wallacewt on January 14, 2013, 05:26:35 AM
i have 6601c4 left handed.
part# 20090.
can someone tell me what it is suppose to do?
cleaned the reel all up,  works fine, except for freespool.
this plastic piece was preventing it.
it was preventing the cap from tightening up on the rubber seal,
copper shim was out of play.
threw it out and reel is great.doh!

It holds the spool shaft to the sideplate. I've had reels with and without.

Hi. The little frisbee has two clips, that catch the rebates on the axle. As you tighten the cast cap, that axle brass bump pushes down on the inner race of the top ball bearing in the spool. As you loosen the cast cap, the frisbee retracts the axle.  I suspect that's what the gent above is suggesting.

This part can be wrecked over time, and needs replacing. Did you crank the cast cap all the way to the bottom, over the 0-ring, then start loosening to get cast control? Can't do that now, unless you replace the disk.  1.50 for the part, and 8.00 to ship. Love it.

Maybe Ray and Anne's can do better, or maybe Jay at PF Australia can help.
I know Oz is a big place, but possibly Ray can do better postal-wise, than other shops over there.
