Title: Greasing Drag Washers?
Post by: Zoomie Juice on July 07, 2010, 12:42:29 AM
This may be a stupid question from a rookie... but do you grease all drag washers or just the carbontex ones? I tore apart my 900H for the first time with the factory washers and they seemed completely dry. I am currently waiting for Alan to get the new drag upgrades completed but I was wondering if I should grease the current factory washers before I put it back together. Thanks for the help.

For right now, I believe the Carbontex is the only one. However, years ago, say around the early 1980's, Carl Newell, was I believe the first to grease his drag washers. They were a special composite, not Carbontex. Some people thought he was nuts, but he was just ahead of his time. BTW the current production Newell drag washers are NOT greased.

Regards,
David

teflon grease works great on carbon fiber!
