Title: TICA CAIMAN GT???
Post by: Slowly on December 05, 2012, 02:55:17 AM
Hello everyone!

Saw the Caiman GT on the web and it looks like a quality reel, the specifications seem really promising!

Has anybody used this reels? Are they comparable with the Ambassadeurs C3-C4? Where are they made?

THANKYOU!

i had a chance to meet the guys that are importing this reel.  like many others, it is being manufactured and assembled in china.  they are doing their best to meet the product requirements that we recommend here.  i do not know yet if they meet those recommendations, right out of the box.  if you are comfortable diving into a reel like this, i'd say go for it.  the rebuild procedure should be fairly simple - straight in, straight out.

and if you do, take pictures!

I have owned a Caiman and was not impressed. Corrosion ran wild in it and the drag was terrible. The ABU's were much better. I'm not a Tica fan at all.
