Title: Passive outdrive cooling underway
Post by: Cuttyhunker on May 25, 2021, 06:01:34 PM
I remember mentioning this unit in a past thread, maybe with Dave Hall, anyway an aftermarket passive cooler, the faster you go the more water to cool the exterior of the outdrive.  The skipper likes it, 6 cyl mercruiser BMW diesel

That is very similar to the one I run on mine.

How does it work?  I see the intake tubes on the bottom facing forward. When running, water gets forced in the tubes and goes up to where?  Maybe I'll Google/YouTube it because I don't understand the flow since the right and left of the drive is forcing water in the tubes but the tubes are joined at the top.

Glad your video posted an explanation. I was thinking at first it was some kind of joke ... Jeff
