Title: 9/0 Senator vs. Black Marlin
Post by: SearedTuna on September 12, 2021, 12:28:34 AM
Hello all,

I hope everything is well with everyone!

So, I wanted to share with everyone my Black Marlin caught and landed in 45min without a dart or gaff! 300+ Lbs. Pulled into the boat by hand! Bare footed!

One of the best parts was that it was on a stock 9/0 I built from parts I had, to use as a beater boat rod. I built the reel on Tuesday, and caught 3 nice Wahoo and the Black Marlin on the following Saturday with it.

PB fish of my life so far!! I'm the hillbilly with the big grin!. I'm 6' 1" 220lbs for a size reference.

Love old Senators and have a Cortez build starting soon.
