Title: Drag grease question
Post by: Slowly on December 18, 2010, 11:36:34 PM
Hi Alan, yesterday the stupidity bit me  ::) I opened my revo STX and since I don't have Cal's Drag Grease, I added some Zebco light grade grease to the drag stack to see how smooth the drag settings could get, and well it was stong and smooth. I use this reel mainly in fresh water, and some times for light inshore fishing.

Would you recommend me to clean the drag washers and only lubricate them with Cal's Drag Grease? or I can leave them with the Zebco grease for the momment?

I guess the question is what is the light grease made from?  Is it a teflon base grease?  If no, you probably should clean the grease off and regrease with Cals.

the kick levers have already been shipped out.  check with smoothdrag.com to see if they can ship some cal's grease to you.  if not, let me know.  alan
