My Grandfather gave me the same model of Oldtimer in the upper left corner. That was my first knife.

Looking at the surrounding bearings, the pinion and drive gear from a Saragosa 14000 of the same era might fit, and would get you 4.9:1 as far as I know. Probably not worth doing.

I used to always carry a blade everywhere. Somewhere along the line that just plain stopped. I think it was the return to the desk job that slowly made it happen. Now I have 4 in different spots in my truck and a fixed blade CRKT (someone told me it's a knockoff but it's still quite sharp after a lot of use and does the job) in the pencil holder on my desk. And more blades scattered around my garage in the different places I do things. So  I guess I just stopped feeling like I needed one in my pocket.

Fred,
I have 3 "missing" knives now. 2 in the house and one I think fell into the bottomless pit between my truck seat and the console.

Fred,
I have so many knives, plenty of backups.I am spoiled to the assisted opening now.I ordered the CIVIVI for science,& hopefully forcing the Kershaw to turn up ;D If it does(Prime) or doesn't you can't have too many knives, like reels I suppose...
