Nice vid and thanks for sharing. I fish my JX6/3 hard in sometimes pretty gnarly conditions and I can see a second vid comming concerning some of the Avet's issues we have tried to address here.
Alan stated one of the biggest issues with greasing the drags but with Avet's open drag system water can get into much of the spool/shaft, sleeve, and migrate over to the bellevillle washers which IMO all should also be oiled or better yet coated with a thin layer of grease. Further more the right side of the reel also needs to be addressed especially the pinion bearing, Avets biggest issue. Make sure that bearing is packed well any time you open a Avet reel.
All parts should be removed and greased not oiled IMO (excluding the spool bearings) including the left side clicker parts, whole right side assembly including the shifting mech, dog plate, dog plate screws, control arm, gears, gear shaft and the bearing in the handle. The handle spinning freely is fine but if you really want to protect that bearing pack it with grease. Also protecting much of a reel a thin layer of grease is much better than oil IMO. Yeah I know pretty anal here, well at least for me but if someone is going to dive that deep into a reel they should go the whole 10 yards.
Popping out the pinion bearing from the side plate sometimes can be a pain even with the correct tools but IMO is well worth the effort so you can make sure it is packed correctly. Again this bearing is the biggest issue with Avet's reels.

I grease drags on all raptors and my HX. Usually this works very well. As I feel any hesitation in the dry drags over time I start using Cal's grease as you have done.

I still believe that a service after every trip, especially a multi day long range trip, is needed. I do it and I've also seen what the reels look like inside when people, just fish them. It is not pretty and usually ends in a lost fish. Countless times on long range trips I get the pleasure of trying to repair reels that should have had a service BEFORE the trip.

I saw your video on this reel on YouTube and I came here for mor answers and here you are!
I just got this reel and before I took it out, I wanted to check it out and give it a little service. I like to put a this film of greese on the plates, screws, and a little cals on the drag.
I put it all together, but I am having 2 problems:
1. The spool seems to be offset a bit to the left (clicker side). I don't recal if it was like this origionally
2. The spool does not freespool but for a few seconds. Perhaps because I used a thin film of grease on the shaft instead of oil.
Additionally, when I took it apart, the spool came loose and all the belleview wahsers came off, so I am not sure how they are oriented. I started wtih ()()() and it would not freespool at all. Then I went to ((())) and it was better. Now I am at ((((((.
Anyway, if there is any insight, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes - This is why I go through EVERY new reel I buy..... I grease the side plates, screws, cals on the drag, and I just generally like to see how it works.

My condolences about the Belleville's. I always stress NOT to touch them at all EVER.

I have a log of each reel and the orientation of the bellvilles.
I use grease on the drag plate and the inside surfaces of the reel. Screws get grease. I never grease bearings except those unrelated to the spool spinning.
