Title: Shimano Biomaster
Post by: Redfish King on October 11, 2022, 04:39:51 PM
I have a Shimano Biomaster 2500S and a 1000PGS both have really shallow spools(these are spinning reels)
Im getting Like 50 yards maybe of 15 lb braid on these (have not measured it but its not great for my purposes)Does anyone know of a replacement spool with more capacity? I heard there are some available but can't find them?

The difference between 10 and 15# braid on line cap is quite noteworthy. Not the same reel but my 2500 BG held close to 280 yds of 10# but less than 150 of 15#.

Maybe consider lighter line? What kind of drag settings are you using on these?

any spool w/ same design/size and no "S" at the end

Ultegra used to be (is?) budget Biomaster...  both, are JDM versions of Symetre/Stradic

if it's front-drag, need photos or EXACT model/year to figure out US-equivalent

if it's rear-drag, FORGET IT...  pretty sure mine has the crossbar higher on the shaft than US models

I think mine is 2000S, rather than 2500S -- even w/ 10# braid, capacity barely OK...  will try 6-8#, next time

just use 6-10#

15lb braid on a Biomaster 1000S  ???

To be fair to the reel, I can't fit much 100lb hollowcore on a Stradic 4000 either.
