Post by: Freedom Won on April 14, 2010, 01:41:06 PM
Alan, first of all thanks for all the advice you've given me and thousand others. Three years ago I added the Carbontex drag washers to my Saragosa and used Cal's grease like you told me,,, love the drag and love the reel. I have upgraded the drag cap, and the washers,,, but should I go a head and upgrade the bearing as well???? I love the reel and have nothing neg. to say at all about it... in fact I will be getting another one here soon,,, just want to have the best of the best in it if I can.... Any ideas?

Respectfully,

Mark

You won't see much or any difference with upgraded bearings unless your current bearings are rusty or corroded. If they are still smooth, save your money!

This is odd????? I noticed today when I was cleaning my drag washers off and reapplying Cal's grease to them that they were not all put in the same way, (all with the textured sides up or all with them down)??? Some were mixed up.... Obviously I did this the last time I cleaned them.... Does this make a diff. at all??? And if so, how should they all be??? This is the carbontex washers I'm referring to of course.......

Smooth Drag.com just sent me an email stating that it DOES NOT MATTER how the washers are put in, ie. all the same different or what ever,,, it doesn't matter at all....
