Title: I Knew Something Would Happen on the First Attempt!
Post by: jechterhoff on July 13, 2012, 02:46:00 AM
While replacing the spool bearings on my CU 200E7, everything went fine until I attempted to put the spring retainer clip back over the new bearing and...BOIINNGGGG! Disappeared into space. Where do I find these clips and have them mailed to me ASAP? TIA. JEE. BTW, I DID keep my thumb on one side...

UhOh, Only solution is new bearings, or leave the shields off the inside face of the bearing.

He is talking about the pentagon shaped bearing retainer clip. Call Shimano customer service. they will probably send you one for free.

Next time, hold the reel inside a large clear plastic bag when installing or removing those clips. A large turkey baking bag works good.
