Title: Shimano Tyrnos 8 casting control addition?
Post by: aaronb on July 19, 2012, 08:37:46 PM
I have a Shimano Tyrnos 8 I use for catfishing.  Is there any way to make it a better caster.  I guess the way I understand it's technically a trolling reel and wasn't made to cast that well.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

You will have to clean and 'light oil' the spool bearings.
That will get you much better casting....

But it will never be a great caster, spool is to heavy for easy start up...
(causes a lot of backlash), once it does start it doesnt want to stop (Backlash)...

spool bearing sleeve would help a lot.  It's a hollow tube between the two spool bearings.  See accurate area for details.
