Anyone know of any gear upgrades or weak points that can be improved?

I haven't heard of any upgrades specifically for the 9500, but they're pretty robust overall, so should serve you well right out of the box.
Would be interested to hear if you do come across any upgrade kit though.

Thanks Justin. And I'm definitely gonna have to refer back to your post once the reel comes in. I bought it off eBay as new but seller had no box or bag so I'm really interested on checking the insides out and seeing if his description was accurate... I'll definitely let you know if I across any upgrades.
