5-40 oval head screws in SS, not a lot of length choices, but they have 1/2" and 3/8".

Fastenal is very common in most places.

thanks for the link, scott. pete kolekar mentioned that site to me a while back but forgot the name. you can also go to mcmaster.com, do a search under machine screws, then stainless steel, then "5-40" and get a few hits as well. i noticed that fastenal wants 21 cents each for one of those screws. ouch! alan
