Title: Calstar GF700XH
Post by: Jon Vadney on March 05, 2015, 11:04:48 PM
I haven't posted any builds lately as I've been hammering out a lot of black-on-black rods for people going on trips and I think we've all seen enough black on black haha.  Well...here's one I just got done with that is certainly not black on black.  It's a GF700XH with a custom copper Forecast Easy Tight reel seat, fuji SiNII guides, spiral wrapped.

That is a very classy rod Jon. Sometimes they are almost too pretty to fish with. Would you please do my photography for me? You do a great job with the camera.

Excellent work Jon! I have a question about the inlay I see on your rods where the guides are installed. Is that done by hand with epoxy and marbling?

I was thinking about a design using a marbling technique at the guide location. And how many coats of DII are you using? Looks like a high build, unless u are double wrapping the guides. Again that is a great looking custom job.
