Title: Narrow 2/0 Senator?
Post by: Cuttyhunker on September 24, 2018, 08:06:26 PM
Just acquired a 2/0 that looks more like a baby Super Mariner with a spool about 1 7/8" whereas the "standard" proportion reel spool is more like 2 5/8" wide.  Have a Penn book on the way from Whitefish, but in the meantime is anyone smart about this skinny little Senator?   Thanks

What stand is that? The 65 LB spool and bars fit the 2/0, 3/0; could be someone found a stand to narrow...possibly a 130 Sailfisher stand? My first Frankenpenn, 20 years ago, was figuring out LB 65 plates fit a 112 spool with 500 bars and 200 stand.

I just scored one last week and about to tank it out. AT has a great thread on this reel: http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=44.msg45#msg45 and here's another good one: http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=44.msg45#msg45
good luck with your reel, post some pics if you upgrade it.

Could be a Frankenreel, the narrow stand is 30-111, standard stand 30-112, and the cross posts are 1 13/16".  Usual skuzz inside but everything else about it looks standard 2/0. The spool is 29-60.

As we told you before when you were trying to sell it, you have a 3/0 reel with a 2/0 headplate. The one with green handle.
Your "narrow" 2/0 is just a normal 2/0
