Title: ABU REVO TORO 51 HS
Post by: Zimbass on July 26, 2013, 06:03:52 AM
Had this reel in for a service, and found that when the line out alarm is engaged that the retrieve becomes very tight and loud. When the spool is turned it is also very noisy. I believe this to be normal, but the owner tells me it used to be smoother and quieter.

Anyone else experience this, and have any input. I can not see that the little arrow can be in contact with the gear and not cause a small amount of resistance, and the noise it was intended to emit, so as to make you aware that the bait has been taken  :D

The "clicker" is a spring loaded ratchet that doesn't lock. It will give you some resistance. The previous owner never used it. It's supposed to be loud. People complain that most are too quiet. Loud is good. you don't want to be reeling line in with it on unless you're filming a TV show ??? ;)
