Title: Shimano Baitrunner 8000 OC oil Port
Post by: MarcosG on June 17, 2019, 12:36:41 PM
Hello, I have one Shimano Baitrunner 8000 OC, there is a oil port on the side. Can i use Reel X lubricant instead of shimano Batam oil?

Thanks

no problem switching out oils.  not sure about the use of the port, though.  just not familiar enough with these reels!

Thanks Alan!
There is a little screw on the side where the manual says to apply one drop of shimano Batam oil every other trip.
I don't have Batam oil.
But I'm now thinking not to use the port at all, instead just open the side plate and apply the grease or the oil as needed.

Don't quote me on it but you may not be able to remove the sideplate without taking off the rotor. It's also a bit of a pain as you have to pull apart the Baitrunner lever assembly.

Pay close attention to the spot where the baitrunner cam exits the body, it has a tendency to slightly corrode/swell and makes the baitrunner operate poorly.
