Quote from: akfish on Today at 06:56:07 PMOne potential problem when you reassemble: The main gear on some of those very old Senators had grooves to hold the "ears" on the metal drag washers that were too short to hold both of the eared drag washers in a 5-stack drag. A new gear would solve the problem, or you could resemble the reel with only one eared drag washer -- which would reduce effective drag. Or you could just stack up a couple HT-100 washers so they are the same thickness as the original drag washers. Again, this reduces the drag.
Or get super bold and drill the ear-grooves down deeper? I've done it on other reels.

Daiwa / Brake collars for Saltist BG 4...
Last post by retiredandfishing - Today at 07:09:33 PM
Customer wants larger brake collars for his Saltist BG40H reel.  Wondering if anyone would know where to get heavier brake collars for this reel.  I think the original reels came with a package of lighter to heavier brake collars (3 weight sizes).  Possibly the ones from the 50H would work.  There are two per side.  Part numbers are B35-2701 and B35-2801.

Thanks, Steve

In my opinion lots of glow is not natural and plane jane Eddy Bombs support this.  a few small dots might be ok.

I'm getting excited. It's going to be a busy month.  The wife has a fundraising benefit for Teen Challenge. Then we celebrate her birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary.  I still need to make space in the freezer, just in case 😉.  I still need to pick up 1 rod.

Certainly Mepps has to be fairly high up on the quirky list, moreso the Super Meca, but I don't have one of those yet, so I've posted my 1936 Baby Vamp and 1950..ish Super Vamp,

Here's the Super Meca breakdown. It's quite an interesting reel to dig into.  ;D

Sounds to me like you don't need to hop on a charter boat. Good call on that !!

Also good to hear from you Mike. It's been a while since you've posted, and hope you have a great season chasing cats
