Title: Tiagra 12/16 Question for Alan
Post by: reelgood on October 23, 2010, 08:12:06 PM
Hi Alan,
In your TI 16 teardown, the reel you had had 4 belleville spring washers (key 40A) and you changed it to 6 and moved the thrust washer to the other side.  Looking at the schematics for the TI 12 and TI 16, both show 5 belleville spring washers in the stock configuration.  I have a TI12 I was going to tear down.  I'm asumming they are (())(Piniongear if there are 5, is that how I should leave them until I have a 6th or is #5 pushing against the pinion going to accomplish more or less the same thing?  TIA

leave them stock and see how the reels work.  then fiddle with the belleville configuration if you need more drag.  alan

Thanks, I wasn't sure I wanted to spend time playing with it because I might sell it.  Picked it up new, cheap but can't decide if there's anything to use it for that I can't do with a reel 10-12 oz lighter.  Great paperweight though, keeps the anodizing looking nice  :) I think I'll sell it
