Title: Problem with BantamproMag 100X SG
Post by: festus on November 21, 2017, 10:48:35 PM
I've run into a problem with this reel, can't figure out how to get the brake plate assembly off and get to the spool. No problem with my other Bantam, two screws take it off.  Got to be something simple I can't find yet.

Try to gently pry and work the black set plate around the edges from the gold frame, at least hard enough without bending it.  Maybe heat it up a bit.  I've had to do that with some older bantams I've bought where the plate seemed bonded to the frame.

Thanks, I was beginning to thing it wasn't made to come off, but in the back of my mind I thought surely there is some way to get to the spool.
