i upgraded just this one lure with the single hooks to try
bit of a craze in oz at the moment about single hooks.use just 1 in the middle
or add an extra on the back.ill try both
removed split ring&treble, tapped a nail punch into eye of new hook, dont break that way.
aj,s samons, kingies etc;would crush the original trebles  like a grape
interesting bib,2 tow points on top and 1 underneath.
add a weight, wonder how deep i could get and still
get it to vibrate.
not bad for $3.30

You also might want to consider Mustad double hooks (I.e.7821BD;3or6/O or similar SS open doubles).  I've had great sucess replacing trolling trebles w/these guys.  I caught alot of fish on the SS double barbless tuna hooks for catch and release fisheries research.  The double barbless actually stay put pretty good, better then barbless singless.  Barbless circles also work surprisingly well when bottomfish, or dead/live baiting.

hi tightlines666
i have others with the dble hooks
these dive to 20ft? what do you think of a weight
to get down to 50ft,
im after mulloway, lure must be able to sway very slow
dont want plastics, been there done that

Trolling weights would work, ESP.  if you're using smaller diameter line, and trolling speed is right, but personally I try to stay away from hanging too much other stuff on my line when targeting large fish.  Though not popular here in Hawaii (except for trolling live bait for Marlin), I have used down riggers to great sucess when targeting wahoo, tuna, and GT...keeps gear 'clean' and allows for precise adjustment of depth regardless of bait used.  A cheaper alternative might be to use weighted planing boards attached to line w/a rubber band or quick-release snap.  These will help get it down an extra 15-20 ft or so max.

I'm from the Pacific North West, where you are looked at weird if your boat doesn't have down riggers hanging off the back, and I agree that if available, they would work great in your situation.

sry i should have explained
you dont troll them.
you anchor up,drop them down 50ft to the bottom
of the drop off,and its just the movement by the current
that sways the correct lure.the other way would be to drift
if the current wasnt to strong
downrigger i dont know,
getting the lure in the right position
anchor up in 10ft of water, let out the rope till
your on the 50ft drop off, bring your lure up to the wall face
big fish up against the wall
if you would like to go on google earth
32-14-24
115-42-35
plastics work fine, wanna try something different
all ideas welcomed
cheers

yep
tested a 4oz under the bib and lure worked
fishing maybe diff;
this is plan A
100 m down current,drop the lure
motor back to shallow water letting out line.
anchor up,1 revolution of reel handle every 2 secs;(maybe!)
till i get close to the wall.repeat.
get a strike,start from there.
i love all this stuff but drive the others nuts
cheers

What gives upgrade with the single hook?
and.. is it worth doing to change three hook on two hook?

hi coralsea
less damage to the fish if you are going to release
a lot of lure fishermen here in oz
reckon a better hook up with singles.
not sure about that one
a lot of trebles are weak, esp; out of asia and europe
double and single hooks do away with split rings
