This is amazing coming from a plastic drinking straw:

Very cool idea!!
And I use to think I had patience?????
Very creative. It would make a great grass shrimp imitation.
Too nice to fish it.
Nelz, that's exactly what I was thinking. If I spend 25 minutes making ONE, I'm gonna be sore when I lose it.
Hum that's some kind of artistic fly making. I was thinking the same thing, first hook up is going to destroy that thing and it's a perfect shrimp imitation, how could you spend all that time making one just to have it destroyed on the first bite, but I was wrong! He's targeting the cuttlefish and probably has some amazing recipe for them as well. that man is an amazing fisherman. Love to meet him some time.
Can we Sticky this in the videos section? I would like to try it but haven't been able to download...guess Im too old for computer stuff
Stickied!
Creativity on fire!!! Rock hopping like this is one of my favorite pastimes. Thanx for the sticky Alan; this is one I want to refer back to.
Thank you!!! ;D
Wow, plastic straw origami!
I saw this a month or so back...my three tries looked partially digested and regurgitated . :o
Think they'll still catch fish?
Guess I need to practice more.... A LOT MORE...some of those tiny scissors might help, too.
Some people have too much time on their hands. ::) Very cool though. Dominick
That was captivating to say the least. Give a man a fish and he'll eat well for the night, give a man a straw and he'll eat well forever. :o
These sausage fingers ain't got it in 'em.
Thanks for sharing,
Dom
An other thing to put on bucket list as things to do over the winter.
Lionel, it's an honor having you here. Thanks for joining, I'm hoping you'll stick around.
Welcome!

Thanks man. Actually, it took me about 10 minutes (which is why it looks a little rough) and I already memorized all the steps. I plan to make some serious ones. I fully intend to make a couple of nice ones, probably not as nice as the ones in the video, and throw them under a popping cork for specks. I didn't add a hook or innards to this one because I was just trying to get all the steps down. Now I gotta find me some more bendy straws.I wonder if I could enclose a couple of BBs in it somehow and make it rattle a bit. Maybe give it a little spray of shrimp scent..

He better hope California Gov. Jerry "Moon Beam" Brown doesn't see this.
He'll have his henchmen out to throw him in jail.
Not only did he have a plastic straw but willingly threw it into the ocean!
Think I'll try my hand at it, that was pretty cool.
There is some seriously cool craftsmanship here, and the creativity to do this in the first place was (heh heh) off the hook! So many great looking lures here!
