This was a dream reel I've wanted to build for a long time. Originally I had built it in stock width, but had been hunting for a very rare gold accurate superjig frame. Hopefully you guys aren't tired of seeing this reel go through its changes, I know essentially it looks the same in wide form as it did stock width. Thanks to my buddy who grabbed the accuframe for me when one popped up for sale, I was able to make it happen. With the larger capacity I'm able to run a ton of 50lb mono or 60lb if I wanted for shorecasting. There aren't many stock parts left on her, to me having the best modern upgrades from the AT family in my favorite reel makes me happy whenever I'm fishing it.

Aloha,
Kyle

Parts list:
2 tone cortez conversions sideplates w/ adjustable bearing cup
Tiburon superjig spool
Accurate superjig frame
MaxedOut shift lever
Motivefab drag star
Accurate power handle
SS double dog bridge, yoke and eccentric
Gen 2 gear sleeve
Bryan's 5 stack drags
Newell SS 5:1 gears

Nice work Kyle, and no we don't get tired of seeing this- especially out at work on the water! Would love to see more pics of this style of fishing- clearly we have neither cliffs or ulua in NC!

Nice looker and judging by the parts list as strong as they come!   Love the "Rasta" name.

Am wondering if the picture is in OZ somewhere?

Here's some pics of slidebait style fishing from the cliffs targeting gaint trevally/Ulua. The line angle is super steep becauuse the water is very deep close to shore. I wouldn't run the rasta jig here, it would be undergunned. Most of the guys I fish with run Newell 550/546, US113W or Torium/Trinidad 50 with 60lb mono mainline spliced to a 15' 250lb rubline. These are paired with ~13' custom very stiff/fast taper graphite rods that will sling a 9-11oz lead 100+ yards.

Ah ha! That's it. A "rub line". I've been reef-rubbed in the last month about 5 times. Gettin bit by slow trolling mostly ~ 5" Blue-green snappers. Thought they were Great Barracudas, cause that's what the divers were seeing out there near Akule bait balls. Whatever they were, they were too heavy to control with Jiggy 30 - 40 lb. rigs. So I gave up, not liking the idea of leaving hooks & long leaders in 'em. My ego was sayin "They can't beat me every time!, just land one for catch & release, use a wire leader if you gotta".
The rub line is mono. right?

Yes Gfish rubline is mono, 8-15' depending on the grounds. My connection from main to rubline is a 3 turn spider hitch, braided double line to 10 turn Albright. For shallow water 80-120lb, 200-300lb for deep water slide bait.

Thanks, Kyle. Great info. Actually, the last one was on a 113H tank, still no control. I lost my 20 ft. mono. leader and ?ft. of braid after 30 sec. of clicker screaming, kayak towing fun, before I started feelin that awful intermittent reef rub. Just not ethical to keep tryin when you're undergunned. "I'll be back".
