Title: Drag Washer Replacement
Post by: Salmon Head on September 18, 2021, 04:25:39 AM
I'm going to change the drag washers in my last generation Takota 600. I've got Smooth Drag carbon fiber washers ready to go. My question: The washers have one side that is rougher with a larger criss cross pattern, and the other side a bit smoother with a smaller criss cross, of the carbon fiber material. Does it matter which direction the new washers go on the reel? Rough side in? Or rough side out? Should they all be oriented the same? Also, put a very light coat of Cals on the washers before they go on?
Thanks to all for your advice and expertise.

It's because they are .75mm thick.
