This is a beautiful vintage left/right retrieve reel.  It feels and sounds like a Daiwa Reel From the 70s that I used to fish with as a kid. This one is even marked Made in Japan.

Yes, they remind me of some of the older Daiwas.  I have a smaller green XRL15 and an XRL40. Solidly built, economical reels from the early 1970s.
