Title: Avet HX 4.2 Drag question
Post by: TongassFisher on July 06, 2020, 06:41:43 AM
Hi guys,

I just serviced my Avet HX 4.2 for the first time and noticed that the drag washer was stuck. I didn't want to brake anything so I only greased the outside of the washer with Cals. Anyone have any comments on this? Is this normal? The drag washer felt like it might be glued to the spool? Am I good to go with just the one side greased?

Man what an amazing reel! The stainless dog mechanism took me a bit of finagling to get back together but other than that Im really enjoying this little beast!

Thanks

Trevor

Hi Trevor,

The drag washer is glued in. The only thing you can do is grease the one side and the edges the best you can to saturate it so prevent moisture and salt from getting under the glued drag washer.  Then wipe off the excess. You are good to go.

Thanks Bryan! Now I need to go catch a nice halibut with it!
