Title: Question about 322f
Post by: George P. on July 23, 2020, 04:10:16 AM
Couldn't figure out why my reel had so much play and why it felt like the dog was slipping and why my handle would go backwards. I finally figured out that the little e clip that holds the  gear sleeve was missing. Do any of you know what size clip this would be and where I might be able to order one? Any input would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi George. Message me your address and I'll send you one. You can also find them on ebay.

This will work for you. The Newell size is 3-21 and it fits all newells. Gear sleeve and clutch spring use the same clip.

Thanks for the input Lauren and Dwight.. Planned on ordering some stainless ones from McMaster Carr but can't seem to find the 3-21 size. Worst case I'll just pay extra and get a few on eBay.

For McMaster you need one in your hand to measure with calipers to find the match. I bought some of the larger ones for the jack lever and they are perfect. That 3-21 is just a Newell Part Number that you can't buy anyway. You always need a few stashed in case you send one flying across the garage and it vanishes forever.
