I am relatively new to this site but wished to express my sincere gratitude to Alan Tani and all members who support it. This is an invaluable resource for enhancing my fishing knowledge base and I am grateful for the opportunity to access it.
Curious to know if you have any feedback on Okuma Makaira trolling series rods (MK-TR-601H and XH)? I recently purchased a new Okuma Makaira 20II reel after research and your previous recommendations and I am now looking to pair it with a nice rod. I found a site that is listing these models at a real good price.
Specifically, do you know how would these rods rate against Calstar Grafiter and Seeker Black Steel trolling models? Are they comparable?
Also, I am exploring some long range fishing trips in San Diego...What is recommended to bring as far as equipment and tackle on these trips? What is best time of year, best boats/trips for yellowfin tuna?
