Title: Fort Morgan, AL 11/04/13
Post by: ChileRelleno on November 05, 2013, 02:49:43 AM
Took the first ferry to the Point...  Yada yada yada.

Three of us met down at Ft. Morgan Point and had a freaking great day hammering the Black & Red drum.
Lots of others out there doing the same.
Day started windy as hell, cloudy and cool inn the AM, then warmed up nicely and the wind died down around lunch.

To the best of my memory the final tally was, 1 slot Red, 7 Bull Reds, 1 Big Ugly, 5 Puppy drum, 3 BIG Gafftops, 1 BIG Hardhead, 3 dinner plate Southern Rays (sharkbait) and a small Whiting.

Since threads are worthless without pics.
I took a bunch of pics on Dutch's I-Phone, I hope he'll post them.

Dutch had one fish wipe out his entire spread, took him a good half hour to cut lines, splice lines and re-rig.

My boy Nathaniel with a nice 22" slot.

Yes'sir!
That biggest Bull is 40"/26#, it'll make some great chowder.
The rest have already been Blackened and devoured by the family.
Rays are in the freezer for the next shark trip.

You bet, he can tell you about every day of fishing he's done.
And boast, brag, lie and exaggerate with the best of them  :)

Cone,
double dogged 9500SS got a good work out today.
That brass main gear has been worn in and is now smooth and quiet.
All I heard was those dogs a singing.
Thanks again!  ;)

Chile, I'm glad they smoothed out. I had a set that was rough at first. A little fishing made a difference. You will probably pass that reel down to Nathaniel one day.  Bob

I really like the look of that black and gold on the beach, especially when a young captain is holding one.
Way to go young man  ;).
Thanks for sharing Chile.

As a Father of two fishing sons, YOU'VE GOT A WINNER here!!!
Want a perfect Mother's Day gift for next year??

Print a photo of this young fisherman, photoshop the older guy out of the shot,
frame the photo and give it to the Mother of this youngster!
She will love you for this!!!

Keep fishing and catching, that's what brings them back!!!!

Wayne

In Fact ChileRelleno,

if you PM the photo to me, I will have my wife "clean it up" and return it to you for printing!
Nothing more special to a Mother than her children having fun and seeing joy in their smiles!

Wayne,
since my photochop skills are nonexistent, I'll take you two up on that offer.
His mother already saw the pic and loved it.

ETA: Sent it to your email.

Thanks,
John

Absolutely fantastic!  :o

Wayne,
I'm again amazed at what talented people can do with a pic and photoshop.
That is awesome, can't tell two old dudes were ever in the pic.
Many thanks for the awesome gift, tell your wife thank you for me.

It is definitely getting framed for our hallway.

Sincerely,
John
