Title: servicing TLD 5
Post by: Walter_Lars on December 12, 2009, 08:01:40 AM
Hello Alan
in reading your tutoral on the Shamino TLD 15 you mention
"i've reassembled the left side of the main shaft using the heavier pre-load springs (belleville's) from the shimano tld 20/30 two speed, part #TT-0040A."

and you also mention useing a Penn 29-65 as a replacement drag

will this also apply to a Shamino TLD 5
I just dug through My reel box and I find the 5 is just a hair smaller than the 15
so maybe it won't work

the heavier belleville's will work nicely in the tld 5/10's.  for a drag washer, i use a ground down #6-25.  fortunately, smoothdrag.com makes one that fit's perfectly.  alan
