Title: Shimano 200 baitcaster
Post by: publius on June 22, 2019, 02:25:25 AM
Need to know how to remove the sideplate on a 200 baitcaster. Round silver plain 200, no suffix. Looks like it should just knock out but not happening. Bigger hammer? it is old and dirty.

Some spinners need the rotor removed first. I'm not sure on that one though.     Rudy

Hi publius,

You need to undo the 2 right side plate bolts, (they are knurled). Then remove the side plate, and spool.

The left side is held in place by 2 screws either side of the bearing holder. Sometimes you need to place something through the screw hole to push out the left side plate.

Cheers,

Terry.
