Hi Alan,

With the number of JM reels increasing (I personally own 4 of them at the moment), might it be possible to send Carbontex or some other carbon fiber manuf., a JM OEM drag washer for them to make replacement models from?

I didn't know the JM's didn't use carbon fiber.  As good as these reels are, you would assume they would put the best washers in......

What do you think of the internal construction of these reels?  Are they in need of immediate service, or can they be fished for a season or two without causing damage/corrosion?

Garth

All reels have cf washers. Have the feeling that the carbontex sold by Dawn (smoothdrag) is from higher quality.
Its no much work to cut new washers from cf sheets sold by Smoothdrag.
The pics are from a reel after two weeks fishing in Norway i had for service.
Dont forget to grease the screw threads and under reel foot before first use.

A lot of the JDM reels have a US equivalent as far as drags go, but I would appreciate any information drag washers, or measurements anyone wants to send me.

If you come across this one again, I have:

56.91 OD
60.82 at the ears, 8 ears on this one
31.60 ID
1.2mm thick

Could probably make it work.
