Just got some in the mail,,it smells like grease,,why is that?

Well I have no idea what I'm looking at..but yeah I've been told by JohnD ,and others here it works very well. Even thinning out grease with it.

    I think it smells like differential type gear lube ! But, whatever it smells like, it seems to work well .

its all I use on bearings and bushings. and a whole lot of other non-reel stuff

I *think* one of the main ingredients of "gear grease" (old school 80w-90 type hypoid lube) is "mineral oil".....and it appears that's a big part of Corrosion-X, too.....that must be the "aroma" ???!
