Title: 309 with 3.75 to 1 gear ratio?
Post by: richard on October 02, 2014, 01:36:37 PM
Probably ive missed something, but scotts quote the 309 as having  3.75 /1 gears.(i make it 2.82)
How is this possible with a 13-85 pinion and 5-500 main?
Also is there any sort of a list that shows the number of teeth on various penn gears?
               any help much appreciated--thanks.

It's a typo. The gear ratio is 2.75:1.

We have a couple of those on the party boat with the level wind removed and they work quite well.
