I got my Everol's out this evening for a photo shoot.
20/0,18/0,14/0,12/0 and wide 9/0.
Funkadelic 12/0 on the side.
Silver, Black, Gold, Green and Blue.
The only one I'm not showing is my NIB 60's 4/0.
The Blue 9/0 sleeps with Ted's 501. ;)
All two speeds.
I have been doing a full search of the web, now that I have my own everol on the way. Seems like a quarter of the pictures I found in my google search included your dinning room table Daron.
Chris,
I have connections brother.
Once you get that 6/0. I might have a handle in stock for you.
No promises.
Everol is so misrepresented in the US.
If I don't have it, I can get it. ;)
Daron,
I remember when you only aspired to own an Everol and now you have the whole line up, own about 80 lbs. worth of them, and take centerfold spreads of them.
You've come a long way pal. They look great!
Can't wait till you stretch their legs a bit.
Nice work,
Dom
PS- when do we get to see that 4/0? ;)
After dragging them all out, I think it more like 150lbs. ::)
I have an Iron Man Special 20/0 in the works.
That 4/0 is no secret.
I know exactly where it it is.
That is as nice a group of Everol's I've ever seen owned by one person. Daron whats the story on the blast from the 60's kaleidoscope one. I really like it.... Jeff
You have some beautiful reels there Daron !!! I like all of them but especially the old 4/0 with the box ! Great collection !! John Taylor
Yes! He let the big dogs out! ;D That's a nice collection, but that's expected. Thank you for taking time out to share that with us. I've been wanting a "family photo" for a while.
Thanks for showing us some of your arsenal, Daron!
Best,
Fred

Here is the story behind that reel Jeff.

Daron all I have is a 9/0 and one of the Waterproof smaller reels. I dont even remember the number.
But.....
I did purchase 2 Penn 50's NIB and one Penn 20 NIB reels. I will post pictures when I have time. These are new reels with the butterscotch handles. Cool..!!
Sweet.
Daron, thank for showing us your Everols. Beautiful and powerful. And when the time comes to hook a 12'er will be deadly too. I'm beginning to think you are a double agent though.....and have been secretly dealing with Paolo (?) in Italy for an east coast USA distributor license ::). Bill
It's not like that Bill.
Zero Interest in being a Distributor.
I wouldn't make any money, because I know what they actually cost.
Honesty and Integrity Make the man.
I do my best to live by a simple policy.
Treat others as you would treat yourself.
Paolo and I have that in Common.
The Iron Man 20/0 is being Built.
I am very excited about this one.
The Laser can only cut in Vector Format.
I have no Idea what that is, but I found the ultimate engraving for this reel.
Red Frame, Gold Spool and Handle.
I am Iron Man! ;)
Hi Daron
Beautiful reels!! Vector format means line drawing, no tone or gradient., just solid colour which can be scaled up or down without loss of resolution. Vector can produce a gradient of sorts, but Vector gradients cannot be scaled as perfectly as Bitmap gradients. Bitmap can produce tone from zero to full saturation.
Scaling of Bitmap artwork can rely on the amount of pixels per inch used.
Greg
Thanks Greg,
I originally was just going to go with a Block letter version of the words "Iron Man", but was told it had to be in Vector.
I found a website that converts an image to Vector Format, but wasn't happy with the results.
I stumbled across the previous image, while looking for an outline of the Iron Man face and knew it was the one. :o
A vector drawing can be scaled to any size, small or large (within the capabilities of the equipment) and still retain integrity. A bitmap will start to loose detail when increased in size, even with modern fractal programming technique. Most of the engraving equipment, I have seen, are vector graphic based.
I don't know what kind of Laser they use, but The results are fantastic!

I can't wait to see this. ;D
Should be a sweet, custom, one-of-a-kind reel.
Mr sharkee! We love to watch your rise to Stardom. Keep your health, there is not much stopping you now!💪
Best of luck.
Gary,
Really? You have members flocking to your paradise to catch those monster butts.
I am just a reel head still in the Audition.
You are a legend in your own time. ;)
As the very attractive woman said to me once in a dream,"flattery will get you nowhere!" Butt , yes I do like to have fun! :-*
The Dream I had, she said "Flattery will get you everywhere". ;D
Payment made today for the Iron Man.
I will keep you posted.
Everol Custom Shop is at work. ;)
Life is Good!
Sneak Peek. ;)
Everol Iron Man 20/0!

Stuart Short #4 Butt.
Calstar RT80 IGFA or The RT E-Glass 130.
Those pictures are from the Factory.
Awaiting the Gold Ergo Grip to make it complete before it begins the 5000 mile Journey from Italy to Kentucky.
The wait will be in New York Customs as Usual. ::)
I figure a month if I'm Lucky.
Superb!
Mike
WOW!
just........
WOW!!!! :o
Those graphics turned out Great! That is a one-of-a-kind beast. I bet you can't wait to get your hands on it. That would look great on a custom Iron Man Rod. Just a thought.
Daron,
Wow! Now that's impressive. I don't have a clue about laser etching, but that was fun to watch. Can't wait to see a pic of you holding the "IRONMAN"....a new avatar may be in order?? Congratulations!
Brett
Thanks Brett,
The New Avatar will definitely be in order.
20/0 in each hand. ;)
It takes lots of planning for a reel this Awesome.
Everol Italy is a pleasure to deal with.
Still looking for A Vector Format Terminator. ;D

Nice work there.
This has been in the planning for 4 months or so.
Paid and Made.
Just waiting for the Gold Ergo Grip Handle before shipping.
I also hooked up my buddy and fellow member cwillis85 on some parts for his Vintage 6/0 to tag along on The Iron Man's Journey.
Pay it forward my friends. ;)

Daron can you measure the side plates on your 4/0 and width between side plate. I am trying figure out if my little Everol cradle is a 2.5 size or a 4/0. My cradle is 4" across plates and about 1 7/8" width between plates. Thanks
John Taylor
John,
That 4/0 is on the bottom in the back.
I spent an hour today digging towards it looking for other reels.
No guarantee, but I'll keep digging tomorrow.
Sorry John,
Maybe this weekend. I stripped off the old line on a 12 and 14/0 and applied new while watching the Olympics.
A few beers got in the way and I didn't get to it. ::)
I literally have a whole room full of reels. Top to Bottom.
It takes some time to see them all. ;)
OK John.
I think these are the measurements you need.
Thanks Daron !! I guess that makes this cradle a 2 1/2 0 size. John Taylor PS if you ever decide to sell that 4/0 with the box let me know !!!
Here is the handle I have been slowly working on for a while. With Darons help I have a new factory handle on the way but I wanted something stronger and a little more fine finished than what came stock. This was all done with a piece of .25" stainless stock, a chunk of the large oak that was removed from my front yard, a dremel, cordless drill, and elbow grease. I am happy with the results but I do wish I had a better hand for the finish work, just a tad rough around the edges, but I think it compliments the reel well and the flaws are hard to pick out a 10' so I am calling it a win. Should be a great trolling reel for inshore grouper.
Looks like a nice job to me a nice custom touch. If it were me I would have a big washer where handle connects to reel as the head on that machine screw is kinda small. Other than that very nice ! John Taylor
Chris. I really like that simple but very nice, functional handle you've done... Jeff
Wow Chris!
That Handle is Dope! ;)
I agree with adding the washer, just need to find it, more accurately, find time to look for it.
I am also a fan of the simplicity of the handle, it compliments the reel well in my opinion.
It just is a hand worked piece, so the corners aren't quite symmetrical and the epoxy gave me fits, but overall it looks good enough and I love it on this reel. Fits the era.
Thanks for the kind words, I am pleased with my bargain bin everol, can't wait to spool it up and fish it.
Very nice work Chris! Can you explain how you did the knob shaft? I've been wanting to that with a piece of cherry from the cabin, and have the blade down, but haven't been able to come up with a shaft to my liking and I don't have a lathe (or lathe skill, more importantly).
John
Beautiful job Chris and you've used simple tool to create it. I like it very much, it would look great on any reel.
Sal
Nice work Chris - it looks good, it's functional and has your personal touch. Don't get hung up on the slight imperfections, that's the signature of hand made pieces.
Mike
John, the shaft is simply a bolt. I epoxied it in the blade and cinched it with a nut. I then epoxies the threads up to where the nut would thread on. Took and sanded and polished the bolt and epoxy smooth. Only time will tell for strength but I believe it will be fine, it feels stout. Worse case I will keep the spare original I have on order in the tackle box for emergencies but this will get this beauty fishing. I wish I had a better design for that shaft though
Noted, thanks. let me know how it does. I've been hunting really beefy binding posts / screws for a log time, and found some SS, but not really configured exactly how I want. I love the knife-style tang in it. thats bad to the bone.
X2 on what John said....love that handle. I only have one custom made hunting knife, and that handle reminds me of it! I'd rather catch a fish on something I made, than the fanciest aftermarket handle ever!!!! ....same way I felt when I used to fly fish much more...simple satisfaction catching a nice trout on something I created!! Great job!
Brett
The day has finally Come!
Iron Man!!!!
She is a beauty !!! Did you see the one on the bay ??? John Taylor
Impressive doesn't begin to describe it, That's insane Daron
That is some mighty fishing tool buddy.
Mike.
Congrats on iron man, D!
You may have to come out with an Avengers set.
Enjoy your newest, bad boy pal.
Good things come to those who wait.
Dom
What a beaut! I know you didn't put him down yet, if you did, you probably picked it right back up. ;D
I feel your excitement buddy...enjoy that beast!
Sal
whoa Nelly! time for new profile pic with double dumbells!
That definitely looks worth the wait. What a beauty
Good things come to those who wait!*
*and work hard, and plan
Darron it's a great day for you, we ❤️ love to see what's she,lol do🐟🐟🤙🎣🧜♂️ Thanks for the pictures. Now that is a Tank. Keep healthy, go do it,👍
Chris,
At first glance, I didn't think the handle would work on your 6/0.
Turning it over reveals a unique design. It must be cast in a mold. It also has the cool set screw with the collar like all my Everol's.
Hopefully Paolo will send your drag kit that was forgotten. If not, I will reimburse you the cost.
I made out like a Bandit on this reel and its only fair.
I showed it to the Wife, on the condition she wouldn't ask the cost.
She Said " I stopped asking that a long time ago". ;D
Dealing with the Factory saved me almost 50%.
Daron,
Wow, that sure is sweet! As mentioned before, I assume a new avatar pic will be coming along shortly. I'm not psychic, but I see a big shark pic coming along soon also....has to happen to such a good guy....best of luck!
Brett
My Avatar was my first and only Selfie.
I can't hold the Camera with two Monsters.
I will figure something out.
Thank You Brett.
I worked hard for this one.
Four months of emails, two 60 hour weeks for payment and When it was ready,
Italy had a 22 year Flood that was devastating the Country.
Italian Post was Down. My Man Paolo sent it Express DHL and they delivered it right to my door in a week.
I am a lucky Man to know such good people.
That goes to everyone here. ;)
It is just a reel, The Biggest and most Powerful manufactured Today, but it was designed by me and built 5000 miles away by a true friend and his Father, Giovanni.
This reel is Special, not just because it is an Everol.
It was Made by true Craftsman that Believe in their Product and Heritage, instead of doing it for only profit. ;)
Sweet, I saw the handle in your earlier pics and was thinking the same, that's not right, but it definitely looks like it will fit the bill. Very cool looking too, guess I will just have to see how it feels compared to mine that I built to decide which is going on the reel.
Thanks again Daron, I know this all wasn't a walk in the park for you.
A very nice reel ! Having several rare qualities.
D you plan to fish it ? ... Jeff
Yes,
One Day I will.
I bring a 12 and 14/0 Senator on every trip to the coast.
They have yet to be tested on a Big Shark.
I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing until they are.
The 18/0 Everol will be the first one to hit the beach after that.
The Godfather.
Daron, if I had the desire to both own & use goliath size reels I would want both of the big ones you have.
But that 18/0 Is my favorite of the ones you have. The Everolls are just very classy reels. In an Old World way.
If that makes any sense... Jeff
It does Jeff. ;)
That photo is a man on a mission...love those reels Daron! 8)
That's an avatar worthy shot to say the least 8)
I have to agree with John's modification of that famous quote. "Good things come to those who wait... work hard and plan!"
You earned it, pal
Dom
Daron,
Yeah baby, that's what I'm talking about!!!! Double fisted new avatar pic! The Shark Hunter is raising the bar! Expected nothing less, but now I anxiously await a pic of a big toothy critter caught on the "Iron Man", you've put in the time, you've prepared, and now I predict a big one for you next time out!!!! Best of luck!!!
Brett
I'm still waiting on your drag kit Chris.
It is on the way, but without a tracking number, I am in the dark.
Paolo said he is trying.
If it was sent DHL like my reel,
They just sit on it waiting for the customs to be paid, without contact.
DHL is fast, but their customer service really sucks.
All I know for sure, is that it was sent air mail.
It is in the country somewhere. ::)
I was worried about the Iron Man, because Italy had some of the worst weather they have ever had.
The streets were flooded like rivers. Mudslides and Devastation.
I did not know it was sent DHL and it was sitting in a hub not 10 minutes from my house for three days before I received the tracking information. I finally figured out how to pay the Customs Waybill online and it came to my door the next day.
It can be frustrating, but the $1500 savings was worth it. ;)
Paolo is doing the best he can. I can respect that.
If it would have come regular mail, there would have been no fee. DHL is capitalizing on that. It was only $100.
I can accept it. Custom fees are a big question mark until you roll the dice.
Of all the Everol's I have bought from the factory, this one was the first I had to pay a custom's fee.
Its all hype.
I will gladly pay it again, because it made it 5,000 miles in four days instead of two months regular mail and it skips all the Custom's wait in New York or Chicago.
I'll keep you posted Brother.
Daron
Almost every time this thread pops up I search the auction sites to see what's available and what it costs. Right now an old 4/0 at a reasonable price (?) but there is also a newer 20/0 in black! I'm not sure if it's a good price or not, but man it looks cool. Not associated with it at all, just thought it was pretty clean looking
Nick
Absolutely appreciate the communication Daron. I am in no rush to receive parts and have faith that the only link in this chain I need to be concerned with is the post. I will be excited when it gets here but it is not worth stressing over, was still more concerned iron man was going to get lost in customs.
The only down side to everol is that parts seem to be inflated up to 300% to get it locally. The parts are very reasonable, same ball park as international parts from Italy but then you have to deal with shipping which hasn't been a cake walk. I got lucky and my reel is unused, so no parts needed except the handle, the drag stack is simply an upgrade.
I saw my reels sister bought for $100 more than I bought mine, that person looks to have put in the missing screw and now relisted it without the handle for $350 and to source that handle locally was $125. That is too much into a reel that isn't particularly rare and a new one isn't too much more. Everol are tricky used, I got lucky with my deal and an excellent wing man.

That 20/0 is a good deal Nick.
They are $2450 on Tackle Direct.
I already have two. ;)
I got my Waterproof 50 Wide's new when they were $379 for a reel turning 40lbs drag, holding a thou or so of 50 mono. Frame is thicker than Penn's. Now they are $600 and OOS.
Chris,
I was starting to get a little worried, but after two months. Your drag kit has arrived.
It will be going out in the morning two day priority, along with the handle.
300% savings, Yea, I'd say it was worth it. ;)
Thanks for your patience, and coming along for the ride brother, I knew Paolo would come through.
Looks heavy duty with three kinds of different springs.
(You are on your own installing it.) ;D
I need a haircut. ::)
Exciting news. That reel looks sweet. I will have it together by the weekend. King mackerel off the north pier. May have a use for this reel right off the bat, muscle then bad boys up quick before they break me off.
The pic of you holding both looks more like a work out photo than a gear pic. ;D That Ironman is stunning!
Job well done brother....I've been following your travels and I'm impressed with everything you have gone through...Good luck in Fla. this week.....Bill
