Can anybody suggest a secure knot for my reel leashes to attach? I want anchor it to a rail. Secure but removable without a knife. :d
Mine are made out of 1000# hollow spectra with a large loop on the end for putting on a cleet.
Timber hitch with a half hitch to lock. I drag tree trunks with it.
Or, bowline-on-a-bight. You might also put a clip / carabiner on the rail end of line as well so you just unsnap.
"Snake comes out of the hole, around the tree, back in the hole..." Just don't do it like Chief Brody :)
Ditto on the carabiner, or a dog collar clip. I use parachute chord and make loops at both ends using monofilament and a rod guide type of wrap-knot.
Thanks, I have brass clips on the end. Ended up using snake knots and a bit of epoxy on the end to secure the end of the line (x2).

The easiest is the halter hitch . When the music starts and the pole dancer needs the deck , this is knot to follow the rails .
If under way and you want to secure your rig , than i suggest the mooring hitch !!
The knots can be learned here , click on them . https://www.netknots.com/rope_knots/hitches
