Title: Saltiga hyper speed LD drag mod
Post by: Tailin strange on May 10, 2014, 08:30:39 AM
Got a few questions about the daiwa saltiga hyper speeds. Not sure if this has been asked or discussed before or if this is even possible. I'm looking to get a new set of kite reels for live baiting for sailfish and other pelagics and these seem like they'd be an awesome option IF some changes could be made to it. Is it possible to modify the drag to where its not as steep of a curve? Kinda like what shimano did with the BFC talica. Making the drag more of a gradual ramp would be awesome and also might help with the binding issues they have. Are there any other mods that can be done to this reel? Has anyone messed with these yet or the regular saltiga lever drags?

it's a very tedious but maybe you can file the cam as AT usually suggests...
