Title: Dynamic ST-70
Post by: Hardy Boy on February 17, 2020, 04:48:29 PM
Had a fellow bring in some reels for servicing, mostly older penns and he had this reel: a Diawa Dynamic ST-70. never seen one of these before. Reel was not black like most Diawa, it was bakelite red like a peen and a level wind. Every thing functioned well so it just needed a cleaning and lube. Some interesting things were:

- the reel had a very robust worm gear
- thick carbon fiber drag washers and metals
- No clicker
- bushings not bearings
- free spool kicks off when the handle turns, no manual flip
- total penn copy with the handle nut exactly the same size as penn
- internals were penn copy as well

reel cleaned up nice and functions well although with the small three stack it does not get high drag numbers.

Would anyone know the age of this reel?

Cheers:

Todd
