While we are waiting for enough interest to run the narrow 112H 3/0 T3N kits to go with Tom's upcoming side plates project (I need orders for 11 more kits), the decks are clear for a new Tiburon custom kit to be ready right before Christmas, if I can get the order in by the end of next week.
I am thinking that an extra Narrow Newell 300 series reel just like the P21XN (1 1/4" vs. the 322 at 1 5/8") would be cool. I also have received requests for Tiburon to resurrect the 3.5" extra wide T60WEX AKA "Super Six" AKA "Black Marlin".
These kits would be available in any of Tiburon's standard colors, mix or match. The Newell kit would be $129 and the extra wide 114H Super Six would be $245.
Please post if any of the above would be of interest.
Thank you,
Randy
Randy, I'd be interested in the T60WEX in all purple. Rudy
What about an extra narrow Sqidder kit?
Put me down for a Newell kit please.
Don't have to ask me twice. 2 newell kits for me please!
T60WEX, red.
One electric blue "super six" please
I'd be in for a squidder too! Or a 600 series newell narrow kit
If you're doing another run of the XN narrow isn't the only difference from the newell the spool shaft? Maybe throw the newell guys a bone on the next run and have them change the shaft on some? Thanks Randy for taking up the cause!
A narrow Squidder would round out my narrow stable. Squidder for me !
Cool
Just saw this Randy,
You know I'm in for the Newell kit !
Butt, As Sheridan says, I think he is on point...
I also think that offering a Newell spool shaft size as an option on the P 21xn is the way to go.
I know you can get the numbers up on the order if this can be done...
Thanks for the opportunity for another one of a kind reel!!!
Let's hope it can happen...
Narrow Reels are Good !!!
All the best,
Danny
Oh,
If you Ever Think About doing the XN Squidder Kit.???
I'm all in 8)
Narrow Reels are Good!!!
Danny
I would go for a newell please in black
Juan
What in the world would one do with an XN Squidder vs. 146 width? I can throw most of line off a 146, and my thumb is already too fat for a XN Jiggy :), as Ted asked me the other day why I hadn't built one. Just curious as to application.
anyone thought of making narrow daiwa sealine kits????? 30h, 50h, 400h?????

Same question. The 146 Squidder's a pretty small reel already.

A narrow Sealine would be so awesome, start with the 300h maybe? I have a bunch of different sizes and would be all over this!
The 146 holds 300 yards of 65# braid. The Saltist 20LD I used extensively on the SOA trip holds 250 yards of 40# braid. A squidder with a 3 or 5 stack is never going to be a 60# reel.
A 146xn would have the needed line capacity and a much lighter spool than the 146. THat light spool may mean flipping a sardine past the skipjack and into the yellowtail.
As far as fly lining live bait and casting surface iron, the spool can never be to light. Now, a 146xn with jigmaster guts with a 4.8:1 gear ratio? Almost as good as a CS 501.

Got it....that'd mainly be a Left Coast app. Here we'd surfcast it, which means 20 lb mono, and the 146 only holds 230 yards or so as it is. A narrow one would be so far down in the arbor it would take all day to wind in 8 ozs of lead. By the time the OBX breeze gets it youre out 150yds of line to touchdown.
When I was in Groton, I'd cast stick baits and plastics for stripers off the fishing pier. A little ree like this on an 8ft 20# rod would be perfect.
Ron
True. We just don't have any plates for them; I probably have a half dozen waiting that aren't already CC Classic 146's. Tom, how about some Squidder magnum plates? :)

or get a pro gear 255, I believe it's a squidder magnum?
The 255 is a squidder magnum, but the cs 501 is smaller and faster. It'd take some math, but I bet a 5:1 extra narrow squidder would be about the same as a 501.
Ron
Except for speed and drag numbers.
Tight lines. Brendan.
To answer the original question, I think the Newell would be the winner.
Ron
WEX in Green for me.
I'd love to see something in a new direction...but unfortunately it's a direction only about a dozen of us would care about. A frame for the 210 would be awesome, one that kept the levelwind would be "creative awesome". 8)
I want to revisit the XN squidmaster idea for comments and suggestions
My group at work does a fishing trip and one of the guys always brings an Avet SXJ.
It is amazingly tiny and capable. I'm sure it would be cheaper to just buy that instead of doing a ful hot rod of a squid master. But it wouldn't be as fun, or as custom.
I see the XN squidder as something perfect for the gulf side of Florida, and for near shore rockfish/lingcod on the west coast. With a nice light but strong rod, you could fish for a week straight.
Look forward to the wisdom of the Ohana
Nick
I'm with you Nick ! XN Squidder for me... that would totally round out my stable.
Cool

YES!!!!!!!! And 980!
How about a 525 frame and spool kit.
Mike
Since everybody is jumping all over with requests I'll just add mine to the pile. How about a frame for a Shimano TLD50II LRSA. That's one that is desperatly needed since the factory discontinued those weak replacement frames. Rudy
I would be down for a squidder xn and most def down for a 970 or 980 kit!
farmer 56 here.......... four xn sqidder kits for me ..... i would even preepay
