Hi Paul --

That is a rear guide for the oscillating spool shaft as it moves back and forth during cranking.

Does not adjust -- needs lubrication from time to time during servicing.

Material is German Silver, like many of the parts on these old Pilgrim Pioneer Quicks.

I have 19 drawers of parts just for this model.

Late 1940's -- Early 50's.

Built in West Berlin -- Postal Code SW68 -- Southwest Quadrant, Area 68.

Should be a serial number on the foot stand underside.

Best,

Fred

Fred .. You'll be getting it soon for a restoration... How is the spool released? Unusual reel to say the least !

Seasons greetings to all

Just unscrews, Paul --

No push buttons --

Looking forward to restoring it for you.

If you have other reels, try to send them at the same time -- it sure saves a lot on shipping to combine items -- especially since the rates are so high for shipping.

Best,

Fred

Fred thank you I got the spool off after fiddling around with it, some one put a very tight white plastic washer over the threaded shaft under the drag adjustment knob preventing removal of the spool, took it off and the spool lifted out just as all the others do on these fine reels ... Will forward this reel soon after the holiday Season ends for full overhaul ....
