Title: Progear wahoo special
Post by: Swami805 on September 03, 2017, 09:39:23 PM
Greetings, I've been seeing progear wahoo specials popping up here and there and saw a box on line saying it has 5 bearings. I thought it would be similar to a 454 progear but with a clicker but from the looks of the box I saw it looks quite a bit different.  How much different is it than the old style progears with penn innards? Thanks Sheridan

The Progear Wahoo special has double dogs, a 5 to 1 gear ratio and massive drag washers. It's very different than the 454.   Brian did an excellent tutorial of the Wahoo Special a few years ago.  I'll send you some photos.

Thanks, I went thru the progear section and saw Bryan's tutorial but the pictures got photobucketed (new word?).

I found some external pictures. I should have the internals somewhere.
