i have an older shaimno custom 7000 spinning it is in verry good condiction   can carbon  fiber drag washers be installed in it. i was going to give it to grandson for fishing the bay  thanks houlihan

is it front-drag, rear-drag, or one of those goofy SOB's w/ both

I see no reason why it couldn't be converted, although there sure are a lot of components to that rear drag system.   :o You'll probably have to be pretty precise on your ID & OD measurements, though.  ;)
