Good Day gurus.
cant find any information on ASHAWAY Spinning Reel company and models.
very funny design
Charles Ritz, of the Ritz Hotel line, and Paul Mauborgne, the inventor of the Luxor reels, started the design work on it. Ritz took it to Ashaway Line & they formed a separate company, Ashaway, Inc. Ashaway contracted with the Ohio Tool Company, OTCO, to manufacture the reels. There is also a larger size called the Ashaway Surf-Slip Cast. OTCO also manufactured the same reels under their own name. The reels' intent was to be used on a standard casting rod and not have to deal with back lashes. The reels came out in 1948. It takes some practice to get efficient casting them. ;)
There's some additional discussion over here (https://alantani.com/index.php?topic=22628.msg251194#msg251194).
