Title: Fluorocarbon identification.
Post by: gstours on January 23, 2022, 06:15:22 PM
Recently I've ran across several stiff mono pieces of topshots and a reel that had a bunch of mono that seemed usable for something.    Seems like fluorocarbon is generally quite stiff,   At least in my limited experience.
How would you know the difference from more common monofilaments?      Just wondering?🎣🤷‍♂️🐟

Fluoro is about same density as water
if you submerge a piece (so that surface tension is not a consideration),
it should stay put or rise/sink very slowly

nylon is noticeably lighter & will float up much faster, esp. if it's dry & not water-logged
