Title: Anyone try a bushing instead of the ball bearing for the small pinion brg ?

With all of two trips on my new MXJ,  I am having no problems,  drag never set to more that 8 lbs at strike.

this bushing has a flange, not sure it would fit because of the flange.

The reel will bind with bushings.  I would be the same as    rusted bearing.

good enough,  can you confirm the smaller pinion bearing is a R156 size, stainless and double shielded, ABEC 5 ?
