Title: DIY silver handle arm
Post by: Yogi_fish808 on February 03, 2017, 06:30:55 AM
I've wanted a silver handle arm for my R344 w/ Randy's 808 kit and Adam's SS star for a while now but didn't want to hunt down the oem one and pay an arm and a leg for it. I'm sure a lot of us are familiar with the $10 ebay handle arm resembling a black P-series arm. I decided to try stripping and polishing it, I'm pretty happy with the results. It wasn't too hard, just took time (maybe 45 min total?) and patience. Used a drill and wire wheel to strip the black coating off, the red dremel sanding drum (400 grit?), 800-1000 wet dry, polishing compound and nevr-dull. Coated with car wax to seal but probably will shoot a clear coat later. Hopefully I can find a source of bare aluminum arms and not have to strip another one.

Aloha,
Kyle

Great idea! I'm putting a red 322 together now. I have a couple black arms in the bone yard. Thanks for posting. Sheridan
