Title: Saragosa 10000F - how to access the internals of the spool
Post by: Richardr on January 26, 2017, 07:34:23 PM
Hello all

I'm afraid I don't have a picture of the spool right now, but it looks to me you need some kind of special tool to open a Saragosa 10000F spool from the top. There are like 5 holes in a circular pattern on top of the spool where I believe you need a tool grabbing those so you can twist the spool open.
Sorry for the poor description.

Anyone?

Thanks
Richard

The schematics show  standard spring clip arrangement.

Perhaps your spool is not original?

Does your spool have the 4 screws showing on top? The Spheros spools do. Remove those screws and the black cover to access the drags.

Hello
Well, this is a little bit embarrassing. My mistake is now obvious. Before my initial post I just did a quick visual inspection of the spool since I'm about to order some carbontex from smooothdrag. Apparently my visuals is out of order...
The "holes" I mentioned is just for design (?) and has nothing to do with accessing the spool's internals.
Thanks guys for bringing me back on track.

Have a nice weekend!
BR Richard

Hey Richard,
have you figured it out yet?  If not, can you post a picture of the bottom of the spool?
cheers
Steve
